About Me

Hello. My name is William Darrisaw and welcome to Transformative Living, Professional Christian Counseling Services.  I am a Pastor, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor, Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider, and have completed all course work toward a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. I have also completed courses of study in Positive Psychology and Emotional Intelligence.

My God-given gift and purpose is to help people experience their best life. I have over 20 years of Pastoral experience and have had proven success in Professional Christian Counseling that has helped clients overcome issues of mental health disorders. My passion as a compassionate and empathetic professional counselor is to help clients recover, and achieve the quality of life that demonstrates balance, mental health well-being, and a prosperous life experience.

The Counseling Experience

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12: 2).

The psychotherapeutic approach used with my client’s is designed to help them realize a transformative living experience in three dimensions:

1) psychological -  reflects anticipated changes in the client's understanding of self; a cognitive restructuring process to dispute faulty thoughts and replace them with beliefs grounded in indisputable truths for victorious living,

2) convictional - reflects fundamental changes in the client beliefs that are influenced from the adoption of the revealed truths they come to know, and

3) behavioral - a change in lifestyle because of the transformation from the revealed truths that lead to a renewed mind.

Our eclectic therapeutic approach incorporates client-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Transformative pedagogy used in therapy involves critical questioning to raise client awareness about their assumptions regarding individual life experiences, beliefs, and biases. This process help clients self-reflect and make the connection with how their lived experiences may have influenced their worldviews, established their values, and the formation of their beliefs.

The therapeutic process considers spiritual influences on all maladaptive and unwanted behaviors. Clinical preparation always include counselor prayer for God's guidance and wisdom to help clients achieve their desired outcomes. As such, the manifestation of the Prophetic Word of God may be demonstrated during the process. Finally, my clinical training and experience as a professional therapist, combined with the leading of the Holy Spirit work together for understanding client presenting issues and for the development of treatment strategies. We believe in the Sovereign Power of God to heal, deliver, and make whole.

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).
